Gualterus de Bibbesworth, qui saeculo XIII medio floruit, fuit eques Anglica et poëta in lingua Anglonormannica. Origo eius confitetur iuxta oppidum Kimpton Hertfordiae fuisse ubi reperitur villa nomine Bibbsworth Hall seu Bibbs Hall recognita. Gualterus de Bibbesworth anno fere 1250 in Gasconia pro rege Anglico Henrico III militavit, duce Nicolao de Molis siniscalco.[1] Anno 1271 Cruce signatus in Terram Sanctam properavisse censetur ad expeditionem sacram nonam, de qua re tensionem vel carmen in forma dialogi, titulo La pleinte cum Henrico de Lacy composuerat.
Gualterus de Bibbesworth praeclarus est ob opusculum Le tretiz in versibus Francogallicis cum glossis Anglicis scriptum, Dionysiae de Monte Canisio dicatum ad instructione liberorum eius, ut melius vocabula Francogallica de rebus rusticis et de vita quotidiana intellegerent.
