a coworker I had seen around but never spoken to sent out an email in early March organizing a March Madness bracket with a $10 entry, hosted on CBS Sports, with prize money split up as: 1/2 to #1, 1/3 to #2, 1/6 to #3. I entered and while I'm not in a position to win, the update emails he's been sending out are inconsistent with what's on CBS.
Every email update he's had himself at #1 and someone else from his department at #2, even though online he's been around #10-12 and the other guy is much lower, around 30th place. He also sent out an email after the signup deadline telling us what exactly the prize money would be and the total is about $75 less than $10*# of entries.
I think he's cheating in his reporting. The tournament will end in a week and I have a feeling he's going to announce that he won when he didn't. While it doesn't really affect me, it still bothers me a lot. Should I do anything about it, or just be professional and ignore it?
