Coniunctio genetica in linguistica historica est metaphora quae coniunctiones describit inter linguas quae sodales unius familiae linguarum sunt.[1] Linguae quibus inter se sunt vincula genetica ad eundem gregem linguisticum pertinent, qui familia appellatur. Quae vincula per comparativam explicationis linguisticae rationem adhibendam reperiuntur.


Familiae linguarum per geneticam linguarum arborem usitate repraesentantur. Exemplar arboreum aliquando dendrogramma vel phylogenia appellatur. Arbor familiaris coniunctiones linguarum intra familiam monstrat sic ut arbor familiaris unius hominis coniunctiones cum suis cognatis monstrat.
